The Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan

Chambers Plan is Canada’s leading group benefit plan for 1-50 employees.
  • We wish to acknowledge and recognize that the SSM Chamber of Commerce is on the traditional, territorial, and ancestral lands of the Ojibwe people from the Garden River and Batchewana First Nations.

The Ojibwa people are one of the three nations that belong to the historic 3 fires of confederacy, the traditional government of the Anishinabek Nation.

It was here that the actual Robinson-Huron Treaty was negotiated and entered into in 1850 between the principal leaders of the Ojibwe nation and the British Crown.

To the Anishinabek people, this sacred and spiritual place has been known since time immemorial as Bawating.

We wish to honor the original people on this part of Turtle Island along with the many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Metis, as we recognize their homelands in the spirit of partnership and reconciliation, and remind everyone that it is incumbent upon each of us to learn more about the Robinson-Huron Treaty, and our role in it.
