An Elegant Affair - Fundraiser for Children's Comfort ARCH Hospice

Starts: 2015-12-12 Ends: 2015-12-12

Friends,

Imagine being a child with a terminal medical condition, nearing the end of your young life and being forced to spend those final days in a Hospice far away from home. Six year old Chiara Scornalencki,  had to do just that.  The closes Hospice, was in Ottawa.

Until recently, there has not been a hospice facility available for children in Sault Ste. Marie or anywhere in Northern Ontario for that matter. We would like to assist in this change.  As of May 2015, Arch Hospice has opened their doors to Children who need Palliative Care.  Our goal is to raise in excess of $30,000.00 to provide funds needed to continually educate and train the caregivers and volunteers and to provide all the necessities, equipment and personal items for the child and their family. Recently, Arch Hospice has been given the approval to add rooms to accommodate children and their palliative needs.

We aim to provide a comfortable environment that provides children and their families the same compassionate palliative care currently available for adults during their stay at Arch Hospice.

My name is Valerie Pluss and I am producing ‘An Elegant Affair’ to raise funds for “Children's Comfort at ARCH Hospice”.

With your generous help, we will provide a warm and comfortable setting close to home, ensuring dignity and privacy for children, their families and friends who are undergoing such trying circumstances.
