EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY - Policy and Research Analyst (Government & Business)

The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce is seeking a unique individual to work with the membership in advancing government relations and non-government collaborations. 
Formed in 1889, we are the voice of business in Sault Ste. Marie. Our ongoing advocacy role includes addressing local government policies, programs and actions affecting member businesses. The local Chamber facilitates enhancement of the economic climate; identifies education and training opportunities; improves relationships with government, business agencies and labour organizations. We provide many opportunities for business people to network and meet other interested firms in their respective sectors and bring these views forward to the appropriate levels of government and lobby for positive change.
The Role
By providing support to the membership’s Government Relations Committee through research, issue development and identification, you will make a positive contribution to the membership’s and community’s long term economic sustainability.
Working closely with the Executive Director, you will lead issue based policy committees supporting a solutions based approach to advocacy on a variety of complex topics. As a valued member of the Chamber team you will develop and implement supportive communications efforts and events that advance advocacy in strategic areas on behalf of the Chamber membership.

Computer: Microsoft products, document publication and report production
Education & Qualifications:
A degree or diploma in political science, business, economics or relevant education in public policy research and development. The successful candidate will have work experience in business management, political administration or member based organizational management.
